You've been spoiled by Di2 .. when I was a boy we had friction shifters and never had any of this bother .. blah blah lol
On a positive note .. I just installed my modified Red mech (ti spring, aluminium pins = SRAM claimed weight) on the other bike. It could be because I'm running 38 48 (what I have laying around) and the gap is closer so easier to shift, but it's working nicely at the moment in the stand.
