  • Putting the £325 a ticket aside - where the fuck are the poetry, literature and dancing about a bit, painting and architecture events?

We get 13 days of beach volleyball but no art. Bollocks.

Oh and we've covered this a bit here: http://www.lfgss.com/thread39961-2.html

have you not seen the logo? there's no place for art in these olympics.

  • You bastard! This was going to be the start of a massive groundswell of opinion calling for art comps to be reintroduced.

You ruined it for everyone now with your pointing out rightly why it would be a stupid idea.

I hope when you make your tea tonight it catches slightly and it ends up having a slightly burnt taste. That'll teach you.

  • Ok.

  • Olympic track cycling is dead to me.

It's not the best riders in the world doing, in my opinion, the best races.

Price, however, seems fairly reasonable if there is anything you actually want to watch.

I won't be there. I'll watch some of it on TV I guess.

One of my ambitions was to be inside that velodrome, preferably working, selling hot dogs if I had to, whatever just to be there. My opinion has now changed.

Great for those who volunteered on time and are lucky enough to be chosen to work inside the venue, I completely missed the chance so it's sod all for me as I'm no good at spectating from velodrome seating, it has to be TC or nowt.

  • I'm not fucking going. BringMeMyEastway. [/still angry]

    Mosque thread is whichway?

Sod Eastway, there's an Indoor velodrome!!!

I'd sacrifice your pitiful eastway, hillingdon, hog hill and every road circuit in the country just for this velodrome.

I'd even sell your grandparents for tracktime.

  • You'll be lucky to get any track time.

Thanks again for taking away a traffic-free racing/training circuit close to Central London, which was also a valuable resource to the wider community in some of London's most disenfranchised boroughs. And a nature reserve, and a campsite, and a great off-road circuit. What a fantastic decade it will have been, once the much vaunted legacy facilities allegedly become available to the aforementioned communities again…

  • after the games the temporary facilities will be removed and a velopark built.
    just sayin like.

  • Well, the cost is pretty high, and i could pick holes in every way that Olympic ticket prices are wrong, but this mug, yes, this muppet here is going to dig deep for that experience.

    just sayin like.

It will. But the original plans that were agreed are believed to be at risk from new plans from the OGLC that will shorten the proposed road circuit considerably and prevent cyclocross from being run at the park completely.

    More here.

  • pretty gutting these facts arent they?
wanted to take my old man there, he lives up north,
very doubtful I can sort all this out financially to make it happen,
prolly just go for a ride instead, put the money in to something else

  • Ok so we've had a justifiable moan about the pricing etc.
Which session/s are those that are intending to go planning on trying to get tickets for?
Do we know if specific seats are allocated within the priced areas? I notice you can only buy 4 tickets at a time so the chance of getting a bunch of us together seems slim if it's numbered seats.

  • Aug 7 to watch Anna beat Pendleton and set a new 500 WR plus mens Kierin finals.
Maybe Aug 6 for the sprint finals

jokes on you, I like burnt dinner!

  • I was hoping to see at least one day but looking at the prices sadly that is not going to happen.

  • Aug 7 to watch Anna beat Pendleton and **set a new 500 WR **

Still wondering how this is going to happen at the olympics unless Mearesy is doing the Omnium as well?

  • 17 -19 February 2012 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classic at the Pringle.. just announced on Olympic gamemaker/volunteer testing programme..

  • I knew that last week. BC handed the WC classic over to LOCOG after Manchester

  • Still wondering how this is going to happen at the olympics unless Mearesy is doing the Omnium as well?

Oh another Omnium event - I thought it was just Women's 500. Well fuck that then.
Did I mention the UCI can suck my furry nuts yet? No? Well, the UCI can suck my furry nuts.

  • Kenny selected ahead of Hoy for the men's sprint.
