Selling my old Klein quantum...

Think its late 80s..approx 57cm c-c / black paint / a couple of paint blisters near shifter bosses and cable guides on tt. but generally looks good / very useable paint. Carbon forks

Headset - ritchey
stem - deda..
Wheels - chorus hubs (I think!) on omega rims / 7 speed block
rear mech - chorus - couple of scratches but good
frt mech chorus - good condition
chainset - chorus
brakes - mirage - exc condition
ergos - veloce - some scratched but ok
seat post - stronglight
seat - fizik - leather small tear in front
bars - cinelli - pretty scratched near stem
bar tape - btwin - good nick
cables - all campag - 6 months old

Don't mean to sound like a grump, but the mech hanger has, from what I can see in the photographs, been snapped off and replaced with a generic pressed steel hanger.

So you're paying for a frame with a) great history (Gary Klein, pioneering use of alloy, the quality of the welding etc), and b) some not so great history (an unspecified but clearly damaging crash, at the least).

I think this is expensive for what it is, bearing in mind the lack of information and the visible damage.

^exactly. The rear mech hanger has been repaired very poorly, so it really isn't worth buying at all. Otherwise I (or Dammit) would have bought it by now!

^ that is quite a strong statement. It's not the prettiest fix. But fundamentally it's an ok way to have a hanger attached.

The real question is how it happened. But it doesn't mean it's not worth buying.

It should be viewed more as some wheels, groupset and finishing kit plus a free damaged frame though, not an iconic frame plus that stuff, and priced accordingly.

That aside, seller says it's now up somewhere else, so none of this really matters.
