I've got a Sram Red front mech with ti cage and it shifts fine. The set up was very straightforward as well, maybe try setting it up yourself or using a different mechanic before writing it off and trying something else.
If you do mix and match the Dura-Ace 7900 uses a slightly different cable pull which prevents it from working properly with the Sram Red shifters.
