SRAM RED
Just wondered if I'm alone in having trouble shifting from the small ring to the big ring (compact) with SRAM red? There seems to be a knack to it....if I ease off the pressure and move the shifter just the right amount I get a smooth changeover, but if I don't get it dead right the chain slips around or even falls off. I've been on a couple of training rides and so far haven't been able to crack it. I've heard this can be an issue with SRAM Red and have been advised that it might be better to change the front mech to SRAM Force or the new SRAM Red Black which apparently works better. And someone even suggested using an Ultegra front derailleur which he says works fine with a SRAM shifter. I'm not worried about a mismatch so long as it works.
Any thoughts?
