Much easier and safer to remove them.
Pop the tick in a jar of alcohol/solvent to kill them.That looks awesome- will be buying.

don't you just stub your lit fag on a tick to make them pull out, i.e. not leaving any bits inside the wound / bite ?

A pair of tweezers works fine - just grab the head parts and make a clean pull.
