The paintjob was sprayed on with closed eyes, there was some surface rust, and some of the fillings was cracked. So I decided to strip the frame with Nitromors, sort out the rust and repair the fillings.
Took me about the 20hours total. The weight is just to see how much the paint weighed.

Where'd you find track Shamal's?
-

The Netherlands. Had the Shamals on my old, now sold Eddy Merckx roadbike. And I love the design.

Did you just swap out the hubs for a fixed/free hub?

No, the old Shamal on my Eddy Merckx was sold with the bike. This is a genuine Shamal Pista set.

Wow!
(Original) white paint is cool but I think you could go for something more special/flamboyant... not sure about the green, lovely colour, but just not quite right. Purple is lush.
One thing I'm curious about is whether the webbing is all filler, or is it part webbed lugs?
-
• #13
The webbing is a metal plate with filling on top. Not quite sure how to explain it in English.
You can see the metal base in the middle here

Wow, absolutely awesome frame. That is going to look sweet as a carrot.
NOT purple though! What about a pearly, silvery, icy blue?

loving this Husum. following with interest :)

Totally agree with SP, light colours, maybe with tinted laquer or pearlescent to draw attention to the shape... or even a fade (see the Duell thread for a wicked example).
That Pedal Atleten is helped IMO by a really nice typeface for the decals.
Stunning project.

Tornado Track frame, by the famous danish bike-builder Tonny Tornado.
56x56
Reynolds 653
Built in 1993 for my current track coach, asked him for some pictures of it from back then.
Tonny told me, building a similar frame today, would cost around 1600,- pounds.
Started out like this:
