My club used to use Dunlop contact adhesive for our tubs from a big tin whose label looked very 80s. It was still half full when I did mine.
The label had a drawing of the rooflining of a car.

can anyone suggest a Ti frame maker from far east?
currently looking at alibaba, any other sources?I've got 2 from XACD - as has already been mentioned, they will build EXACTLY what you ask for, so don't expect any advice from them. My first one I overspecced wall thickness and its a bit heavier than it needs to be - my fault entirely - but I use it as my everyday bike and it's fine. The second one I based on Condor's Moda - triple butted (I specced, but don't kjnow of any way to check!?) and it's great - ride's great, weld's look clean - it's taken me over a fair few Alps with no problems at all.
Also, they label the package as "samples - value $50" and I didn't get charged duty or VAT.
All in all, recommended so long as you know what you want - just my opinion, your mileage may vary etc etc....

No one makes carbon brake levers like the SRAM 900s (not TT)?
That are availablez for cheaper prices?
-
• #1756
Not that I've found, I'd like a pair as well.

SRAM S900 are already made in Taiwan, that's just what it costs to make a decent brake lever. TRP are $109.99

Bumz.

Those TRP ones are aesthetically challenged.

The TRP is very much a marmite, they've fantastically easy to work on, offer two kind of position (came with a shim to have a flat hood, or those old school sloped hood, not sure what the latter's actual name is).
The levers flare out more than the SRAM making braking on the drop reasonably comfortable, the size mean it's nice and comfortable to wrap your hand around and pull the bar.
What I did not find comfortable about it is the hood shape, felt like a V rather than a U shape, which dug into my hand annoyingly enough, thought it shaped like a campagnolo ergo, how wrong I was.

I've been looking at the regal areo seat posts on eBay, 20 quid for a carbon areo seat post, are they any good?
Other trouble is there only 27.2, would it be ok to use a spacer to shim up to my required 31.6?

You do the math. I'd take the claimed rrp with a huge pinch of salt, it's a no-brand knock off of the Alpina you can buy from Dolan for £60
would it be ok to use a spacer to shim up to my required 31.6?
Shimming up from 27.2 to 31.6 isn't a problem, but using a 31.6 post would still be a better plan.

So that's a no?
Just wondering if the rest of the carbon stuff is not too bad, then that should be good?
Is it worth it or not then?
-
• #1764
I'm sure it's worth £20. I'm not sure I'd want a £20 carbon seatpost anywhere near any of my bikes.

Thanks for that, I shall have a think..........

I've got one of these in 27.2 and I like it. Only a tenner more, in the right size, with a good clamping mechanism, and has a bit more certainty.

Possibly a bit overbuild for a road bike, but not exactly a major flaw.

The one I was looking at has a big areo bit, might just wait till I can afford the proper thing, roman up and try it :D

with the massive mark up to get it into a uk store its probably a "cheaper" product

ah, sorry the regal is from a uk store too, was thinking about a direct from china product.

Reading and advice fail on both our parts.
Still I stand by my general endorsement of the Outland, even if it bares no relation to what RR was after.

that hong fu FM089 from above is currently only available in size 52 since they are just going into production.

i'm planning on buying a set of carbon rims, any recommendations on where i should buy from?

I think Farsport still have the lightest ones.
-
• #1774
I'm looking at building up an entire bike from farsport, how do I go about getting the order in? Do I do it via contact on their website, or do they have an alternative site for purchases?

Email them.
thanks for the explanation.
