Hats I broke the femur neck in two places. Judging by the x-rays it looked like a clean break to me with little displacement.
The thing that has surprised me the most is how quickly I was able to bear weight on it. 24 hours after surgery I was able to stand up without crutches, and now just over a week later am walking around my house without them (not sure I should be doing this but not in pain at all).
I know what you mean about being paranoid about breaking it again, that's my biggest fear but I figure it was a freak accident and could have possibly been avoid if I had got my front wheel tured and took better care of my bone density (been on medication that can mess with it).
It's been a crazy year for in terms of accidents, so far nearly got squashed by a white van, suffered road rash after hitting something on the road, and now breaking my hip but am determined to get back on my bicycle - as the saying goes, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
With physio as I am not working at the moment, and am fortunate enough to put off returning to work, is it better during these early stages that I just dedicate myself to recovery?
