Normally this doses't bother me at all, but in this example the chap clearly was not familiar with the junctions and the pattern of the lights.
There are many sets of lights in London where by one can go on a red, straight ahead, as it is green for pedestrians on the left of the junction crossing. These could do with separate filters for left and straight ahead.
