  • I had something called hip impingement. Basically it means that the ball and socket do not fit together – in my case the ball wasn’t ball shaped and I had bone rubbing against bone. It was very painful and was wearing away all my cartiledge. I had keyhole surgery to try to reshape it, which was pretty awesome as I could walk fine after 3 weeks, but it wasn’t a complete success, which is why I had to have this much more major operation. My case is actually quite rare and I’m a bit of a celebrity in the orthopaedic clinic when I go for my check ups. My surgeon even did a conference about my case (didn’t invite me though). Claim to fame!!
