what about the court near the skatepark??
We've played there a few times but its always full of kids playing football. We've permission to use the school so it's easier to move anyone on. Its just as good and just five minutes from the centre

Hey,
Living just outside of York for the summer and this might be my closest polo fix!
How does one go about getting to Holmfirth? -
• #8
Your best best might be Sheffield for (more regular) polo, although Manchester ain't much further (train tickets look more expensive though), I drove through Holmfirth once though and it was definitely prettier than both.
-

Holmfirth is hard to get to from anywhere! I do love it though. The Picturedrome is ace!

You could also maybe get a game in Hebden Bridge, which is also pretty and has a train station with no changes from York, also has a high concentration of lesbians and people with wet shoes.

• #11
The 2 aren't related.

• #12
Rob do you live in these forums??
-
• #13
Yes.
-
• #14
After looking at a map it seem's that Holmfirth is closer to the Manchester courts than Hebden Bridge. Maybe we should arrange a throw in session at the Manchester court with all the rural players one weekend??

cyclerecycle? that you ben?
-
• #17
It is.

It's actually easiest to get to Holmefirth from Huddersfield, quite hilly though, so polo gearing could be an advantage...
-
• #19

Soyo polo co sugestedted a similar thing. What's the regular Hebden night. Seams to me we've Sheffield Tuesday, Holmfirth wednesday, and Manchester Thursday. We've got a game happening within quite a small area almost every weeknight!
Transport to holmfirth by train I'd stay on till brockholes it's two stops closer. We've four guys who've confirmed for Wednesday so far but it's early doors. If I rains it' probably get cancelled. Unfortunately there's nowhere undercover to play. -

Rob, stop trolling, there's a potential of a new scene here and much of what you said (on this thread and the other) is negative or poking fun at Dtroll's efforts ;)
Good effort Dtroll, keep it up!

WTF? How am I trolling, or am I being trolled right now?

yes it's Ben. Hey Dave I've just been given your number by Phil who mentioned you were interested in coming over here too, I'll give you a bell to touchbase. Hebden Bridge still has a low uptake to this amazing activity so we don't have a regular night yet. I normally frequent the Manchester court tuesday, thursdays and sundays when possible.
@Jezz - how's the courier going!
We play most Wednesday evenings from about 6.15 onwards at upperthong primary school. Anyone interested just turn up. The more the merrier. We don't have anywhere covered at the moment so its fair weather polo!
