1. Ok there's a front brake, have you checked out many other bikes in this thread? MOST have brakes, this is not HHSB.
   
2. The seatpost is NOT above max mark, thats the aero section that is made well above the max extension mark.
   
3. How the fuck can you tell if the chain is tight from where you're sitting?! Could be a nice comfortable nearly taut, just like mine.

Haha.. all correct (apart from the chain, its fine)
The post is past the min insertion mark by about 3mm (how the fuck did you even see that?), however like the short stem, it is for purely comfort reasons. Its my daily commuter and not for the track / or a show-pony, so I have a brake, guilt free.
