Any question answered...

I have an Olmo frame which has been fully chromed before painting. The paint has been stripped, and I want to powdercoat it. is it possible to mask off certain areas which I'd like to remain chromed, like the chainstay?

if so what should I use? I'm guessing masking tape would burn off?
