Mine have been fine, they go round and round, don't make any noise and have stood up to winter really well. Didn't pay £150/pair for them though!

I'm just building my first FG/SS bike. I have a reasonably limited budget so does anyone have any advice on what hubs/wheels might be a good option to start looking at?

My first build project and I'm looking to put the Halo Track Hub on a Mavic A719 rim. The frame is the 2012 Tokyo Fixed 'Dream Machine'.
I'm trying to do a build that is practically bombproof and will deliver daily use on the roads of London.
Reviews for the hub so far have swayed me over the cost.
Thawts appreciated.

Nice frame. The boys at TFG often use halo stuff so I reckon it will work out well. Who is building the wheels?

The hubs are ace, given their price too.
Have had the complete wheel set for a year now. The bearings seam to show a slight wear, if I hold the axle and rotate the rim. But that is by far not noticeable while out riding. Guess that is due to some 10k km travelled, through all seasons.Just a side note about their rims;
Even though I've got it all true and round, the finish isn't. I mean the depth of the rim doesn't stay truly in line with the brake surface. Wonder how you manage that. That might be a normal error margin in the production line, or just a cheapish product after all. -

Cheers for the comments Butters and bitrunner.
I'm planning to build the wheels myself. I rebuilt my rear MTB wheel from the ground up and it's stayed straight and true after many riding the many reds of Wales.
I'm sold on the Halo hub. Liking the idea of running a two cog set up. Freewheel not fixed though. Fixed maybe one day. Hats of to those who navigate London traffic fixed.
jesus! now £150/pair
