Is it possible to set up a Just Giving account for a third party? I'm not versed in these things.
I don't mind taking donations into my bank account? If you mark it as Jason or *.m.f etc? I assure you every penny will go to J or his family or whatever?
PM if you wish to do this? Cheers Jason

Any updates today I will let everyone know - cheers
Good one! Where can I chip in?
Ditto. There's this slot in my computer I'd never noticed before, I just wrote your name on a fiver and stuffed it in, did you get it?

I think donations towards Rapha gear and a Strava premium account would be a good idea. He loves that stuff...

Just spoke to the nurse looking after Jason - she was a bit cagey and would not go into too much detail. She said that they had to re-sedate him overnight as he was extremely agitated and 'combative'. Also he is not maintaining his own breathing so is on a respirator again. She would not discuss short or long term prognosis :(
Sorry I can't pass on better news at this time. This also makes it difficult for me to assess whether to fly down as yet, because they won't say whether or not it will be of any use visiting i.e. they might not let me see him.

He's been through a lot - there's bound to be little set backs. He's a strong lad though, and 'combative' is just how he is! Keep your hopes up, and don't plan on going down until he's out of intensive care. His family will be taking up all the visiting spaces, I'd imagine.
Keep the good vibes going, people! Prayers and thoughts.

Me and J (I'm on the right doing my best Stan Laurel look!) at Stone Roses Heaton Park the other Saturday. J insisted he beast me on a couple of rides beforehand THEN had the audacity to make us WALK to 2 miles to the tram station, which he enjoyed with much glee! I was fooked!

Not to piss on the fundraising parade, but if flowers and card and bottle of Scotch are needed I'll happily cover all of those without bothering with the whip round.
Just let me know where to send it all to and it will be done.
If, later... people choose to have a whip around to do something far more specific - such as replace the bike and buy him some lights ;) - then let's address a proper fundraising effort at that point. Otherwise we'll just end up with a PayPal account somewhere with a load of money and only a vague purpose behind it.
Very happy to support a proper fund raising effort as and when there is a good reason to. But it sounds to me, right now, that the man just needs some love, some good vibes, some bromance, and perhaps some Scotch if that's his thing.
If there is a volunteer to get a card sorted and taken round the compass drinks, then great.
Separately if someone gives me a delivery address I'll go take care of Scotch and flowers today.

Jason in Shieldaig in 2010
We rode from Ullapool to Ayr along the coast
It rained from the moment we left Ullapool but he never stopped singing, wisecracking and generally fooling about.
He got me to join the forum
ditto, is there a paypal / giving acct set-up?
