Cool seatstay with that extra bolt.. The stays on mine are just bonded in the lug, but that's a later model form '87 I think.. Good luck, it's in very nice nick!

Thanks for the compliments. As said before, this is an Alan Super, made in conjunction with the famous French bicycle manufacturer Gitane; for the French market, between 1974 and 1976. I have this confirmed from Alan themselves.
Still for sale!

Given it's from the early 70s I'd imagine it's steel.
And yes it's lovely.
And it's my size.

Sold
The project has changed and as such the frame set is for sale, it pains me to say.
As confirmed in an email from Alberto Falconi at ALAN in March this year, this is an Alan Super, made in conjunction with the famous French bicycle manufacturer Gitane; for the French market, between 1974 and 1976.
The condition is brilliant with the original head tube engraving in great condition. The pics below show this.
Pretty rare to find a GITANE stamped ALAN apparently, well, it's the first I've seen in years of owning and riding ALAN's. This bike will build into a fantastic looking bike and the feel of these frames is simply superb.
Asking just £150, with the seat post and headset included.
I have a bike box and can post, costs about £15. If you're outside the UK just PM me for info.
Oh,126 spacing, size 53x54, frame, fork, headset (brand new 105), seat post (brand new un-named).
(I have a Stronglight 105 ter crank for sale too btw, PM me or see other listings for info)
Cheers!
