  • Excuse the shitty phone pics, will get some better ones as I go but here it is for now.

Been looking for a track frame for a while to replace my conversion, and originally intended to just transfer everything over. However I got some good deals on a set of Campagnolo CXP30 wheels and thought I'd now make it something a bit nicer. It will still be my mine ride, am building a beater out of stuff kicking round the house.
After picking this up on t'bay for a reasonable sum, it arrived yesterday. In my excitement to meet the posty, I managed to lock myself out my flat for an hour, standing in the stairwell until my neighbour came home and I managed to break back in using her credit card.
It's in reasonable nick, few expected chips from general use but not too bad for an old frame. Threw everything on that I could, impatience getting the better of me, still waiting on a few bits to arrive so will update as they come.

Current parts list and stuff to come:

    • NOS CXP30 on low flange Record Pista hibs, 28h
    • Campag Record pista cranks
    • Sugino Mighty chainring
    • Shimano 600 aero seatpost
    • Campag Record headset
    • BLB chrome forks (will eventually replace these with something nicer)
    • Brooks Swallow select. I thought about something more suited, but this is comfy as fuck now
    • Nitto B123
  • Threw a few more bits on the other day, was waiting on cranks which arrived last night

Thinking about getting these polished up properly at some point. Just waiting on a chain and she's good to go.

  • beautiful frameset, that clearance is awesome.
saddle ruins it a bit for me.

    is the fork drilled btw?!

  • Not the original fork, drilled BLB ones. I'll be riding it every and like having a brake just in case.
Struggled with saddles for years, the Brooks is the first comfortable one Ive had. I have a Kashimax that would probably suit it better but needs re-covering to smarten it up. However it feels like sitting on a brick so not keen on the aesthetics over function.

  • Lovely frame. I'd be seriously careful about using a front brake on that though. The clearance to the down tube is so tight that it looks like a faceplant waiting to happen with a front brake.

  • Loving everything about this!

Heed this warning, seriously. The exact same thing happened to me last week and my front wheel clearance was slightly larger than yours.

  • Note taken. Guess this will teach me to ride using the brake less and less!

  • Last bits on, obligatory photo in a field. Rides really nice, very solid and responsive but comfortable.
