I just joined linked in...
1) Im not sure I understand it.
2) I think I just felt a large part of myself die inside.it's just a good way of seeing how well those people you used to work with have done with their lives, while looking at your own career path which has gone pretty much in the opposite direction
a veritable confidence booster

Someone should make a version of this for tattoo lovers.
They could call it 'inked in'.

man only just seen this. Not good that they are using weak hashing to store user passwords. I guess when they started SHA1 was considered a safe bet. But not salting it seems foolhardy for such a massive site. Password changed

Joined. No excuses left. World not yet set alight. Perhaps soon.
Clive - a bogus recommendation on my page would be grand. Even though we've never so much as met, you're still my best chance of one. Choose the topic.

I only joined linkedin recently based on the recommendation of this very thread, and so glad I did. Am currently in my last week of work, and so far have 3 job interviews at great local companies arranged for next week, all via people approaching me on linkedin. I've barely had to lift a finger. Completely amazing since I never expected people in my field (med ed) to be using it that much.

Random recommendations prove almost impossible to give without recourse to downright lies. I suppose this is a positive feature.

Looming unemployment has caused me to rejoin today.
i signed up a year ago but was just pested by all the lowlifes I the company I was working at, who I wanted nothing to do with.
This time after 3 hours I already I have a much more credible network of good people. Now I just need to figure out how to make it get me a new job.
Make that 532 ... Awesome +1
