Cos West polo is west polo, it just happens to be the only beginners session right now (but isn't just a beginners session).
As soon as any other sessions start let a mod know, and we'll change the title again, it's just bad to have incorrect information up here.

This is annoying and slightly confusing. Can you just leave the wests thread and Peckham thread as it is and put beginners in brackets on the OG wests title? #overzealousmod

• #4504
I only do what's been requested. I really have no idea what's going on with Wests/Beginners, so if those who actually deal with these sessions can come to a decision that would be great.

Please change back. John

Can you guys all talk between you work out a unified Wests answer, Kev requested it, and you are all West players. I don't want to change it back and forth.

Seems to me that the beginners thread should be used to direct anyones attention to how to begin playing bike polo. That should include links to lhbpa and where beginners sessions are being played in the OP.
Then leave the other threads to exist in their natural geographical way as they always have done.
Westway surely is its own thread.
Souths surely is its own thread.
NE surely is its own thread.
People will work out what session is best for themselves.
For example when i speak to people that are interested, i ask "where do you live?" I will mention where is closest to p[lay to them, but would direct them to the beginners thread anyway. http://www.lfgss.com/thread41959.html is a bit clunky. Can you make it an easier number so that you can tell someone in the street and they will remember? lfgss.com/thread23446 for example? 2/B 3/E 4/G 4/I 6/N - on their phones.
just a thought. -

That's a good point, and makes sense.
So in fact I'll remove any mention of where the sessions are in the title, and just leave it in the first post.

did you understand the telephone numbers idea? Is that even possible? (no idea about coding)
-
• #4510
I understand it, but it involves changing stuff on the forum, could be done I guess. I think it's probably better we just tell people about the lhbpa, and link from there.

So anyway, is anyone up for doing some beginners polo with enthusiastic teenagers and myself one weekend at London Fields?
-
• #4512
i requested west be put in the thread title as that's where the sessions are happening at the moment for newcomers. But i think the current title is fine. Beginners can look in here and work out what's going on. I hope.

What happened to beginners? Is there anything on soon? Some of my girlfriends want to play (north, ideally).

• #4514
And are there any loaners NE?

Between the two of you (and I assume beagle would be in!) you'd have 6, just need to pick a day+ time.

Also Thomasbennett is looking for NE beginners games.

I'm back in for beginners NE polo now I've got free time again...
-
• #4518
I'd be up for a beginners session, happy to come NE.
-
• #4519
I too would like a beginners session in NE (London Fields) or thereabouts. Though, I can only make alternate weekends, starting 28th July, 11th August, 25th August, etc.

• #4520
any of the above dates work for me - without stepping on anyone's toes, I reckon we pick a date and get cracking and hope we can rustle up someone with a bit of experience who doesn't mind playing some slow polo. Also try and rustle up some loaners?

Sounds good, I have the Kona-humu-humu (The Tank) setup as the loaner and have a 26 alu-DJ frame, with chopped bars, stem and a saddle which I can give away to any beginner who wanna build up a bike. No forks though but 26 1 1/8 forks are pretty easy to come by these days so shouldn't be that hard to source.

I've almost got a polo bike too now! Just need some tyres which I'll get on payday!

Rick, I have been having some polo itch lately, do you wanna team up with me to run some peckham sessions on Tues over the next couple of months? I can only do it until beginning of Sept when my late night shifts start again...
psss... I am still not really allowed to play, so don't tell the doctor!

£200 complete polo bike (marino frame)

Btw, I keep meaning to ask, who sent me a Rotten Apples t-shirt via Lola? I'm guessing Kevin but thanks! Whoever it was!
Wait, why change the title of this thread? Why not change the West polo to 'Beginners', since that's the thread everyone's been using up until now? This thread will be used again for peckham/south beginners once I'm playing again.
