Buy some proper bread?
The correct way to make this sandwich is with shit bread

Oh before you have a rest, can you just do this...
Now I have to go the wretched hive of scum and villainy that is Lakeside.

Getting excited now. Last time I did it in '07 it was wet and I did it fixed. Gears and the seemingly perfect conditions should make the ride this evening a real joy.
TdF and a pasta lunch before packing and heading out.
See you's at the start! -

Packed my bag, worried I don't have enough after seeing Ed, or does he just have way too much shit? You've packed a towel, scoble!?
-
• #1307
Scoble has overpacked. You need nothing more than your jersey pockets can hold.
(But I'm taking a tent and panniers) -
• #1308
I think it looks like loads cos he's got water in a weird place.

I wish I wasn't so lazy and disorganised. I haven't even got dressed yet let alone figured out food/what I need to take. All I've done is post shit on the internet and take pictures of the cat.

To be fair that's a great pic Rosie…

• #1311
Food sorted, stuff packed, batteries (and spares) charged, clothes freshly laundered. Nap time!

I'm so excited for you all! Weather's loking gooooood.

Some tickets will be available at the start at 7pm for purchase at £35. **If anyone has not told me that you have swapped tickets with someone, please do so now - I am making final tweaks to the ticket list before I print it off.
Thanks,
Alex

Black is definitely the best colour to wear for an all night ride, right?!
-
• #1315
That is good to know. I have a (don't know it's correct name) triangular frame bag with multi tool, pump, levers, tube and some gels/energy bars and that is it. Water bottles too of course.

Jake - just tried to call. I have a bag you might like to put on your bike. Will email you a pic now...
-
• #1317
Anyone know if the route is full of potholes? Considering whether to take the nice wheels or not...
-
• #1318
The worst roads you'll experience will be between Hackney and Essex.
-
• #1319
Are you doing it on the 'white bike' ?

I have overpacked, I got short, t-shirt, hoodie and a towel.
It's always nice to put on fresh clothes after the ride rather than endure the coach back feeling hot clammy and sticky.
I think it looks like loads cos he's got water in a weird place.
It's either zip tie two water bottle mount, or put in a camelbak that'll hold 3 and a half worth of water bottle.
Only fill it to 2 water bottles worth though.

Shooters sandwich is resting and I'm stocked up on Jelly Babies and Allsorts.
Now if only I can solve the problem with my rear hub I'm laughing. Anyone have experience with Royce hubs?
-
• #1322
Are you doing it on the 'white bike' ?
Nope, something else. Watching the TdF prologue is making me wonder whether I should attach aerobars or not though. Always nice to lie down on the bike.

• #1323
That 2013 Cannondale... yum.
-
• #1324
Just no. Wtf is going in with the sail at the seat cluster?
-
• #1325
"The seat tube shaping has been dramatically changed as well, with its more angular shape terminating in a curious tailcone that Cannondale will invariably claim reduces drag once more official information is released. Up top is a new "Naero-Tec Post" that is indeed very narrow but also very shallow from front to back – likely to comply with the UCI's 3:1 maximum allowable cross-section depth."
This is pretty much my mo. Except I've made a list, lists are great, they give the appearance of getting things done without the inconvenience of have to actually do anything.
