I'm pretty sure it started with The xx wearing creepers back when they were the ultimate it-band in 2011

Then people started wearing ones with fatter and fatter soles

Then other shoe makers started putting fatter soles on shoes

Now there's a whole subsection on shoe websites devoted to them

I was looking for some of these last week for my kid to get him into some of the more hardcore height restricted rides at eurodisney...wish i'd seen this thread earlier.
