Catch a 30 bus to Hackney from Kingsx.
Other than no peak time access there are no bike restrictions on the train to Bedford. -

Or ride to Bedford?

Yes, you can take bikes into St. Pancras. You're right about the tube though, I believe they're not allowed. You can get around this with a large bag and carrying it... but not advisable!

Toby, there are plenty of buses that go to Hackney. Have a look here:

The 30 bus that |³|MA3K recommends may not get you to the particular place in Hackney where you need to go.
Contrary to popular perception, public transport in Hackney is good, it's just not based as heavily on rail as in other Inner London boroughs.
Taking bikes into the part of St Pancras from which the non-Eurostar train companies operate is no problem.
Good luck with the trip.
Hi all,
I live in Bedford, and I need to pick up a bike from Hackney. I rarely ever go on a train let alone to London so I could do with some help! I plan to get the tube to Hackney then cycle back to St Pancras station, then get on the train back to Bedford with the bike because there seems to be too many restrictions with bikes on tubes. Am I allowed to take bikes into St Pancras? And if there is anything wrong with my plan could you please point it out :) Will probs phone up the rail company and ask but thought I would ask here first
Thanks!
Edit: There is no tube to hackney?
