• Rudge Frame:

This would make a good rat frame, i know it's beaten up but I like it, got given an old LOOK so gonna build that as a rat instead. No dents or holes or any serious rust (hard to believe but true, just a few specks here and there).

531 tubing, nice detail on the bottom bracket (sprung trap door to oil from outside)

Headset ok, could use a service but runs fine. Bottom bracket smooth, tapers good.

Nice Sid Patterson Olympic decal pictured, Australian racer winning in the early 50s so i would think that would be when the frame dates from.

    Seat tube is 58.5cm ctt
    Top tube is 56.5cm ctc
Seatpost width is 25.4mm (as close as I can measure, I can include a seatpost that fits)
Rear spacing is 114mm, so fits a standard track hub (110mm)

Double fixed 40 hole hub. All good except for one flange turns independent of the middle of the hub. Doesn't feel weak but i'm not sure whether this makes it unusable.

For this reason £4 or £7 posted.

Surly fixed cog, 17t, 1/8". Good teeth, some wear but still lots more life

    £5 or £8 posted

    Dibs and pm please

  • That frame is EXACTLY the same as my daily ride, lugs, oil trap hole and everything.

As another bit of history/background it is indeed a 1950's frame, made by Humber which was a sister company of Raleigh at the time when all their bikes were made in Nottingham.

Mine was badged as a Humber Streak and was originally sold as fixed with the option for a SA 3-speed. I have seen these frames also branded as Raleigh Super Lentons. Great frames, R531 awesomeness :-)
