  • It depends where you are. For our wedding weekend in Norfolk a few weeks ago I contacted local independent ale brewers and ended up getting 3 x 9 gallon kegs of Buffy's Bitter. The head brewer delivered, set up the kegs on wooden chocks, and we drank it pretty much how Bobbo says, right down to the cooling towel. He picked up the empty kegs and even a couple extra which he'd given us on sale or return in case we were super thirsty. This worked out at around £70 per keg, or just over a pund a pint. Fucking excellent beer btw if you are ever in that area.

If you only need a keg's worth of real ale, your much more likely to be offered - and better off with - polypins. Half keg sized beer in a box, like these. Quite a bit more pricey, but no set-up and nothing to return to the brewery.

If you want lager, get cans >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
