2 - no!, leave it in there, don't saw off any as you could cause damage to the weave which may propagate up the post to the pressure area. anyway it's carbon and light as fuck, so leave it be.

3 - as you've overtightened the post, have a good look around the clamp area for crushing/nipping damage
