• I think this may be another regrettable sale, but I can't justify keeping it on the basis of it being a beauty which I will probably never take out in the wet, couldn't tour with, and can't race on.

It's a Raleigh Corsa in Reynolds 501 tubing, which I was a little sceptical of at first but is in fact really comfortable and smooth to ride and the bike is not heavy.

Paintwork in overall great condition with one small 'graze' to the rear stay.

There is however a small ding on the underside of the top tube, it makes me want to cry, but is only small and purely cosmetic.

The decals are peeling a little on the non drive side downtube as pictured. They are on top of the clearcoat.

    56 seattube c-t

    56 tt c-c

    126 rear spacing.

Levers: Shimano Golden Arrow (Hoods are perishing, would recommend replacing)
    Calipers: Shimano Golden Arrow
    Front Mech: Shimano Golden Arrow
    Rear mech: Shimano Golden Arrow
Cranks: Shimano Golden Arrow, 170, 52/42
Wheels: 105 on what look like de-stickered Maillard rims. I would replace tyres soonish.
6 speed rear block. Check the condition for yourself. I think everything (Component wise) is original. This shows how few miles it has done over the years.

    Saddle: Unknown black suede.
    Seatpost: Fluted SR Laprade
Bars: Sakae Custom Road Champion 42cm c-c. Really love the shape on these. Black cloth bar tape.
    Stem: Sakae Custom
Pedals: MKS AR-2 with Christophe cages (Large I think) Need toe straps.

Complete golden arrow groups in this condition inc wheels can fetch £150

  • Very nice type bump.
Is it one of the 'Raleigh Lightweight Unit' built bikes with the W frame number?

Yes it will be, I bought one of these new in 1984 and still have it in mint condition. The rims (on the saale bike) aren't original, they would have been Weinmanns with a dull silver anodised finish.

The 501 tubeset makes for a very good frame.
