• Actually, best bet, if not going to Ipswich, is Diss, which is 20 odd miles (as the crow flies) from Dunwich, and on the Norwich - Ipswich - Liverpool st. line, 2 stops before Ipswich, so potentially more chance of getting on there

The trains in east anglia are based around Norwich to Liverpool street.

They start in Norwich and end in Liverpool Street via Ipswich.

there are a bunch of branch lines that connect with the main line, dunwich goes to Ipsich and you'll meet the main line there. If you can shift west to the Cambridge to Liverpool st line then you stand a lot better chance on getting a train. This would be near 50 miles though.

The option train wise is to get as far south as Chelmsford, 60 miles, or Colchester 40 miles ish!

Hope that helps train people. Basically it's chancing it from Dunwich/Ipswich or bracing yourself for some extra miles in the morning.
