A busy two-form entry local authority primary school in Clapton (Hackney) is looking to recruit a Cycle Programme Manager to lead a successful in-house programme of cycle actitivites, including National Standards cycle training and sports cycling.
The role would suit someone with the drive and ability to get the whole school community cycling; to get children, their parents, teachers, carers and neighbours, excited about cycling.
The role is one full day per week with occasional additional days/ afternoons; employment is on a freelance basis.
The programme has been running for over two years, in which time we have delivered cycle training, sports cycling and related activities to over 400 children. Person specification: Essential
Keen and committed cyclist
Fully accredited National Standards cycle instructor, with at least 1 years' cycle instructing experience
Current enhanced CRB disclosure and first aid certificate
Excellent personal communication skills, attention to detail and administrative capacity
Experience of project work, including knowledge of budgetary management
Interest in sports cycling
Good time management, creativity and the ability to prioritise tasks
Commitment to the ideals of sustainable transport and the ability to empower others to get on their bikes!
Desirable
British Cycling coach with experience of delivering Go-Ride sessions
Knowledge of at least one aspect of the world of competitive cycling
Experience working in a London primary school
Knowledge of school travel initiatives
Project management experience
Good bike maintenance skills
