  • Where in Kings Cross do we meet?

  • In the new bit, up round the side, where the suburban trains go from.

  • We'll be the ones with the bicycles.

  • There may be others with bicycles too.

  • Then look for Ramaye, he'll be the cyclist tucking in to a healthy array of fast foods.

  • Then look for Ramaye, he'll be the cyclist tucking in to a vast array of healthy foods.

    are you sure?

  • Absolutely. Fish is brain food don-cha-no, especially battered, deep fried and served with chips.

  • Then look for Ramaye, he'll be the cyclist tucking in to a healthy array of fast foods.

There's a requirement for Chris to complete each TNRC on a calorie surplus.

  • I feel bullied, I'm off for some comfort food.

  • Boo!

  • Late In!

Legend at work just lent me his exposure light, which looks suitably OTT.

Will aim for Kings Cross at 7(??) and hopefully someone can help me out with some sort of ticket advice on the spot.

anyone else need to buy tickets?

  • Welcome.

We buy groupsave tickets in batches of 4 as people turn up. Usually works out, sometimes someone gets stung a bit, them's the breaks.

  • And for the record, I will not turn up with junk food this time.

I am finishing work in a few minutes so have plenty of time to eat in.

  • anyone else need to buy tickets?

zanda, apologies hat we dont always make this clear. We tend to buy a groupsave 4 at the station then re-sell (at cost obvs!) back to people when they show up. If anyone gets left without a ticket we generally hand over scraps of change to make up the difference. TNRC's nominally cost £5-£6 per ticket on a groupsave.

    Photos or it didn't happen.

  • PS if you cant work out which group of cyclists you're with. Look for the tallest one (me).

  • So, I have had a look at the route and Stevenage and Hitchin are very early on as bail out points. Only other option is to take Beech Hill into Luton after 25miles, which might be an option if knees (or lungs) are having real troubles at that point.

    YMMV, literally.

As I type this, I am idly noting that trains from Luton run directly to my nearest station.

  • Out :(
'just realised it will get properly dark while riding and don't have a proper front light' fail..

fail indeed! L&G's a light with which to be seen is not good enough where staring down a pitch black, country lane at 50,000kmph

  • 50?
