Nutted brake - recessed fork hole

Posted on
  • I bought a pair of nutted Tektro brakes for an old 27" frame. At some point a previous owner had drilled out just the fork for a recessed brake.

A neat, cheap and easy solution was using a Schrader / Presta adaptor designed to go in a rim.

An aluminium one was about a pound from SJS cycles (+ postage, but I was buying other stuff).

  • Cool. Negates the need for a curved washer too (which are hens teeth)

Got a bag of them from over the years...lol
However a hammer, a standard washer and an old buggered fork (or other curved solid object) and you can make them easily
