  • Working on a new commuter at the moment based on an orange gringo frame
Aim is to be tough, reliable and not overly nickable..

Currently it's 1x9 geared, v brakes and marathon plus tyres with bits from spares in the garage
    I'm considering a front rack/ basket..not sure though

Later today I need to come up with a way to stop the seat being robbed, a neat back light mount, sort the gearing- currently a bit high I think, and pick some new v brake pads

What pads are recommended for all weather stopping?

    I'll get pics later too

  • Koolstop do good brake pads.

    Baskets are good news, too.
I have a Wald basket (with the legs cut to the right length and re-drilled) , and Velo Orange Belleville bars, (which are comfy and don't get it the way of the stuff in the basket).
With some bungie cords, you can fit a surprising amount in there.
