Nice to see some racing again.
Terrible problem with dog shit, got it all over my shoes, and so, having come by bike, my pedals are contaminated with that disgusting mess. Very luckily my backpack avoided all the nearby deposits.
Shame there's not a fenced perimeter of clean safe grass, strictly no dogs allowed, for spectators. -

I'm sure what you meant to say, is there's a shame all dog owners do not pick up after their pets!Fencing off the issue is not solving it. Also why should all dogs be punished for the irresponsible few.
Aaaaaannnnyway, sorry, i didn't get chance to list the weekends coming fixtures, whilst I do endevour to keep this thread upto date I do have more hobbies than time!

I'm not saying it's the fault of the dogs, or owners if they didn't see it happen. I mean a circular strip around the track with enough space for up to a family group etc. to stand and maybe have on the ground a bike, backpack etc. with a fence about waist height to keep this spectator strip uncontaminated.
I didn't mean fence off the whole common. -

The track needs fencing off to keep pesky kids and their RC cars out more than it needs a perimeter fence to keep dogs which belong to carefree owners out.

COVENTRY*** CYCLE SPEEDWAY CLUB***
***OFFICIAL MEDIA INFORMATION
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE***
Bretford Bulldogs entertain Coventry tonight (Thursday 6th September) in a match that underlines the current resurgence of Cycle Speedway in the Coventry and Warwickshire area.
The match, in the Coventry Cup 2nd leg, goes ahead (6.30pm start) at Bretford Playing Fields, Brandon Road, Bretford, with the home side holding a14 point lead from the first leg at Hearsall Common.
Spurred on by the upsurge of interest in Cycling nationally and the Cycling success of Team GB in the Olympics, Cycle Speedway is currently at its highest watermark locally for more than 30 years.
Formed in 2006, Bretford have established themselves as one of the top junior clubs inthe country. They are currently riding high in the sports` flagship British Junior & Youth League.
The club, set-up by local parents, constructed a brand new facility including a tight technical track which proves a test for even the most experienced visiting riders. The venue also boasts a riders pits area and perimeter fence.
Coventry have enjoyed a miraculous revival in the past year. They have rejoined the Midland League this year for the first time in five years and in the dashing Myke Grimes, they provided their first senior British Finalist in 31 years just two weeks ago.
The Coventry club have also re-instated their Hearsall Common facility to international standard in the past year and have recruited scores of local youngsters to add to their squad of elite Polish stars, senior riders and veteran racers.
Not since the boom days of the seventies has the sport flourished in the local area. Approaching 50 riders are now involved between the two clubs in weekly junior, league and veteran competition across the UK.
Reigning Coventry junior champion Lee Kemp will lead the Bretford attack in tonight’s match and the Bulldogs also include Matt Hambridge, Kyle Roberts and Jimmy Wassell.
Fast improving James Kirrane will race at number 1 for the Coventry juniors, with Calum McCarroll and Jake Slatter expected to lend strong support. Recent additions Josh Marsh, Daniel Drewett and Sean Reynolds also figure.
