  • Fucking right!

And I drive a BMW and occassionaly an Audi.

    Be afraid, be very afraid....

  • The clear conscience* and total moral superiority of Toyota Prius owners allows them to drive with complete impunity - beware of this silent killer with ninja battery motor as they take you out on a roundabout in a desperate bid to avoid braking and the resultant energy wastage!

    • If you ignore the human/environmental impact of rare earth mining for the motor magnets
  • mini's the new kind, young, inexperienced estate agents driving them are idiots
it's like when you drive your first hire car you just wheelspin the nuts off it because isn't your car and you treat it dirty ... for that reason any hire car too usually has a psychopath at the wheel

  • 1* Thread.

  • Massive sweeping statement but - young men in Europcar[InserOtherVanHIreFirmHere] transit vans.

Moving house stress, never driven a van before, never driven in London before can result in last minute lane changing panic and general lack of awareness.

And +1 to estate agents minis.. Having an £80 haircut and a branded vehicle does not a career make.

  • Never, ever make stereotype of a certain motorised vehicles.

We're no better than them if we do.

  • just treat them all like idiots as my dad always told me
they are driving deadly weapons and they are usually deadly weapons
    just watch them all

  • Beware the red Vauxhall Micra.

Well they think we're all RLJ-ing, bea...

    Natch

Not sure I get your point...?

Merc driver? Buzz Killington. Stable door - horse.

  • i dont particularly like any car drivers when they are driving. it seems people get into this mentality when they are behind the wheel that they have a right of way irrelevant of where they are. the advert on the telly where people are walking around bumping into eachother has it spot on, we dont act like that when we are vulnerable i.e. a pedestrian because there is always someone bigger/harder than you that will prevent you from doing it, but behind a wheel of a vehicle, well, people turn into twats. its almost like a switch. i have just sold my car and dont intend to replace it, a totally alien concept to my wife who doesnt understand why somone would not want a car but to me, all drivers are complete fuckers who are trying to kill me because they are far superior to me (well at least until they get out of the car) but by far the worst are the builders/trades that drive around in their scabby transit/escort/swb tippers (pikeys included) who whould never ride a bike because they are to busy getting pissed in the pub (need to get a part back in 2 hours).
    people? fuck them :)

  • It must have taken you some time to meet and evaluate every car driver out there. Well done for putting in the time and effort for us.

I have done neither i just dont like people. especially people who think the road belongs to them, and who critique because they have nothing else to do.
    Happy Days

Oh right, because your statement would suggest that you had, rather than making some sort of blanket decision based on the tiny sample that is your experience.

  • Since we're onto stereotypes; I have seen various statistics suggesting that the average London cyclist has a considerably higher income than the average London driver. (Guardian + The Economist).

I feel that cycling in London has gotten way safer in the 5 years I've been cycling daily, and I am guessing this is because of the increased awareness of cyclists. These days pretty much everyone has a friend or family member who cycles to work so the general anti-cyclist aggro seems to be cooling off.

Except for a certain group of professional drivers amongst whom the vindictive and intentional aggression seems to be getting worse by the day. My theory is that the British public have by and large accepted the middle class cycling stereotype and that the shit we get from proffessional drivers is just another example of UK class war.

  • oh dear, my vision of witty observation and tongue-in-cheek generalisation (a la wrongcog's toyota driver) appears to have been consumed by cyber-bile.

    Anyone got any funny ones?

  • ^^ Interesting theory!

  • They're all cunts who can kill or maim us with legal impunity unless they're drunk or were visibly on the phone.

  • Those cars with numberplates with 'D' in the middle of them. ('D' = Danger)

  • i.e they won't be prosecuted for any misdameanours they could drive over your head and they'll get away with it

  • Yep. Their driving is sometimes quite questionable, particulary the ones in the older, shabbier cars.

  • reaching the end of their time in london, on expenses .. drunk driving ... immunity
