Just thought I'd post this as I know a couple of the people doing it.

Staying One Day Ahead of the peloton for the entire Tour de France 2012

In July 2012, seven intrepid amateur cyclists are going to attempt to cycle the entire route of the Tour de France One Day Ahead of the main peloton in order to raise money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research UK, and the Ben Trend Foundation. With 3,479km in the saddle to confront and a few short months between now and the start line in Liege we are looking to raise over £50,000 for our chosen charities.

Also they're having a launch party on the 18.30 23rd of June at Look Mum.
