For Sale: Columbus SLX 59cm road frame

Was stickered up as Basso but unsure of exact maker. In any case, it is a beauty, with Cinelli lugs and a lovely paint-job.

I am selling the frame with the original forks, which match the rear triangle's paint, and the columbus carbon forks in the picture. The forks in the picture are rare, they are 1" ahead and took me a long time to find.

£175 = frame, two forks and headset. I'll throw in the bottle cage bolts.

I will post a pic of the original forks when I find time.

i had it set-up like this, it rode very nicely indeed. But some carbon campy would have finished it off nicely.

Columbus full carbon 1".

Not keen on splitting as bike works best as is and has fitted headset that I don't really want to remove.

But I will split if I have a buyer for frame and original steel forks...

Please don't split, suits those forks so nicely. If I hadn't just crippled myself with NJS debt I would've had this, just my size..

Wierd, I have to put at least 3 comments before I can' fully integrate', just found a picture of my blue Bob Griffin on a thread after searching the site, umfortunately the frame is cracked after a car pulled out in front of me recently, hence my looking for a suitible replacement!

The only reason I asked about the forks was a concern about reliability (safety) for vintage carbon, but they look to be in tip top condition.
I have been doing some reseach on the slx tubing, do you think this is likely to be a late 80's frame or earlier?
Also is there not any sign of the identity? Somtimes there can be the faintest lettering under the B/B.
Perhaps there should be a LFGSS 'Name that Frame' quiz section.
