For Sale: Sugino Tension Disc Wheelset

Not wishing to be mean, but that wheel in BLB looks 100% identical to one that sold on eBay for £50 a couple of weeks ago- I would have bought it but for it being collection only in Yorkshire.

Yeah, I started making arrangments with a certain Leeds resident on this forum to do just that, but felt a bit mean as he'd just broken his collarbone.

I do love these wheels- and will have one at some point for that "I'm almost Jon Tomac" feeling.

I'd have happily paid £100 for it if that included it being shipped to my door.

Looks like they've given it a serious mark up then! Fair play though if they had to go and get it from Yorkshire.

As we all know, eBay sellers often loose out in a big way financially when they list an item as collection only.

The ebay and blb ones are completely different. Cx18 rim, Veloflex Record and 7 speed as oppose to 6 speed freewheel.

Ha, I told you it was doable so don't lay it on me... Even sorted out a lift, saw it went for £50 figured you'd either fallen asleep or it was out of your budget!

Not blaming you at all mate- to be honest it finished when I was cycling to work, I was gutted that I'd missed the end of the auction.

Dandy- may well be, I didn't reopen the auction to check. I'd have discarded the rim and the hub anyway in order to rebuild it onto a track hub, just as I'd do with this if I were to buy it.

The value is in the disc structure, not the hub or rim (well, a bit in the rim).

I was bidding on that wheel as well - fell asleep and forgot to up my max bid - gutted when I saw the price it went for. :-(

You'd need to get a pro wheel builder to rebuild it, the sale includes all paper work, manual, specific tuning key and valve adapter.

That was my plan as well - my purchasing of a lo pro was kinda contingent on getting this wheel, so I've saved some £££, but still feel incomplete.
