  • Well done for donating, Vibez.

Can we please stop the witch hunt now?

  • And Vibez, please do switch your posting style from title case over to sentence case, i.e. please don't capitalise every word.

Capitalisation like this is reserved for headlines (British newspapers generally don't capitalise headlines in this way, although some American papers do, e.g. the New York Times). Even in headlines, there are some exceptions (e.g., you don't normally capitalise conjunctions (like 'and') or prepositions (like 'in')).

In ordinary sentences, you use what is known as 'sentence case'. This generally means that only the initial letter of a sentence is capitalised, as well as the initial letters of proper names (e.g., 'the Bible').

If you could change your style in this way, it would be appreciated, as it is painful to read normal sentences in title case.

    Fair do's!

  • the charity page has a anonymous donation made today so I assume that's him

20 notes isn't really enough for a thomson post, but if that's all he has, it's all good, you can't do more.

  • I Donated £20 As That's All I've Got Right Now....

Stop writing like this! It's fucking stupid and as hard to read as listening to people speak really fucking slowly when you don't understand them.

You are not an unquie snowflake.

  • Just to confirm, donation has been made and received. Thanks to all on here for support and chasing.

Amount I left completely up to the buyer - it was the principle of a donation that was the most important thing to me/the charity and now that has been made, I consider the "deal" to have been concluded - if he had left any sum at all, that would have been fine, so he has met his end of the bargain.

Thanks again to all on here - good self policing!

    Cheers

  • wooo, happy ending!

  • never a happy ending on a bad traders thread

  • anybody had any dealings with xxxxxxxxxxx?

  • Dano tried to stroke me on an aerospoke Paypal to the rescue :)

  • Spokers gonna stroke...

  • I bought 3 punctured supposedly only ridden 10 miles Conti Gatorskin tubs off highlandpro (Real Name Darren Howits).

After about a week they arrived, one tyre was OK but I knew that it was punctured, one tyre was full of glass shards and had done about 2000 miles and shredded to pieces, the other was a very old Clement which was totally shagged.

Now I can buy new Gatorskins for £38, so after having one fixed I would be out of pocket, the other two would have been the bonus and made the job worthwhile after I had sent them away to be repaired, so I thought when he advertised 3 Conti Gatorskins for £18 with less than 10 miles on that I would receive precisely that.

When I queried that with him, his reply was "Would I like to buy another one for £5 + £5 posted" What planet is this knob on?

He refuses to reply to any PM's I stupidly paid him via PayPal Gift.

Although this happened on the Veloriders forum, they have a strict policy of not allowing any post like this about another member on the forum, so when I found out that he was also a member on here I thought I should let you know rather than any of you getting scammed.

  • Was a member i think.

  • That's a shit policy.

  • Was a member i think.

Yep thanks, searching his posts it appears that he has been banned.

  • That's a shit policy.

Yeah I agree, they are not interested in stopping vermin like him from doing the same to other members, one of their mods even wrote to me and said they had heard that he was a bit dubious but were powerless to stop him because of the sites policy!

I'm looking forward to bumping into him and persuading him a little ;-)

  • Out of interest, what's the reasoning behind their policy? Sounds really counterproductive, and if the site is anywhere near as well-run (and self-policing) as this one, any kind of rogue claims can be beaten down and resolved quickly.

  • He sounds like a member

I received this from one of the mods: -

I have moved what you said about Darren, not deleted it, and referred it to the owner of this site.

I have heard stuff about him before, but the rules of VR say 'no badmouthing other VRs' so I have to refer the matter to the boss.
The the site owner pm'd me with the following: -

    Hi

I understand you have had some trouble with some items purchased from a user on this forum. Although I can understand you frustration I cannot allow such comments about another user.

That said I have PM the user in question about this issue.

    Kind Regards

    VeloAdmin
Seems a very strange policy, not a lot I can do except warn people to avoid, done a bit of searching and it seems that he has been a naughty boy on a few sites as well!

  • Why not post everything you said here but without explicitly naming this absolute member, give a couple of clues to his name ("he's no amateur, and sounds like a bit of a caber tosser"), and invite people to PM you and ask who he is if they're concerned about being ripped off as well?

    Better safe than sorry.

  • I'd love to Tom, but they have already deleted the thread advertising the tyres and anything hinted about him as well as my slagging post about him.

They will be watching out for my posts now

  • Fuck 'em then.

Leave the forum, and let anyone stupid enough to remain a member of that place deal with the shit they're bound to get.

Yep, agree, just wanted to warn anyone else.

  • Good on you. Is he on Retrobike as well?

The name's familiar even though he was banned here before I joined.

  • Good on you. Is he still on Retrobike as well?

Didn't know he was on there, I'll let them know
