Try Jayne Doe in Hornchurch. London-quality work but because it's a little further out you can get lucky with appointments, and they've got a few new artists who (may) not be booked up months in advance.

Jayne Doe is a good studio, but Becca is fully booked. Amy is good too though, although I haven't had any work from here.

Simon Erl used to work there. I miss him :(

A friend had a tattoo done in Australia, a Kangaroo to remind her of her time there (it's on her arse though, so weird place for a reminder) but instead of the very private sort of UK studio where no one can see you weeping, she was tattooed as part of the window display, with her bum hanging out. She was mortified.

Her story, not sure how true it is, but css none the less.

I can second Chapel tattoo in Melbourne as well, couple of mates had work there.

Yeah it's on Chapel St. and I've never seen anyone getting tattooed in the window.
