    Cheers Marc

  • Welcome to all the recent joiners.

  • Hello all. Italian scientist moved to London a couple of years ago... i love fixed bikes... But for space reasons I am riding... (shame) a Brompton, and I am trying to make it as much good looking (if possible) as I can!

    Cheers,
    Marco

  • Just joined, bought this beaut a week or so's back.
Going to be annoying with s*loads of technical questions.
Live in kingston and have been enjoying riding around, though have been having trouble with the rear wheel/freewheel.

  • Quick newbie question.
How do you actually pronounce "DAS"? [does it even mean Do a Skid or am I being a chump and it's a way to identify newbie idiots?]

Do you say it complete: "Do a Skid?"
Pronounce the S like a Zed: "Daz"
    Or a wellspoken: "DArS"?

More DAS related questions from a paranoid newbie:
Is it good etiquette to shout it out to strangers or only to buddies?
Is it funny or annoying to receivers?
Must you attempt a skid if it's safe, even if you don't think you can and will probably look like an idiot?
    Ta.

    Don't listen to them!!!

You bellow at volume: DO A SKID!!!

You report back to the forum bosses that you DAS'd someone.

And you say it to everyone who isn't from east London. They're all nobbs

  • Miss you... nobb!

  • Hi everyone,

After lurking here for more than one year thought maybe it was time for me to post something myself. Been riding my single speed around central London for three years.

  • Miss you... nobb!

    Miss you too... Nobb!

  • hey, been lurking for the past few weeks, hopefully be converting my commuter to a single speed with a respray/upgrade, thought it would be helpful to sign up and get some advice along the way :)

  • Hi all.

    Hi all.

I've been riding fixed gear for just over 2 years now. I nearly always choose fixed over gears. I can't stand road bike geo

I've got a few bikes now such as a Pogliaghi roadie, McBain (Aus Made) Track Bike, No Name roadie with 600 arabesque and a 250cc boardtrack inspired motorbike built by myself

  • Hi
I'm from Portugal and i love bikes and riding them. And this is a hell of a forum!!!
    Congrats to all who contribute..

  • Hello everyone.

Live down in Bournemouth, bought a Charge stove (which I want to swap!) about two years ago then got into the whole single speed thing. Want to get into track and road riding a bit more.

  • Hello everybody,
I'm from Slovakia, and my diagnose is bike-building :) Currently riding one fixed-gear and one old fashioned single speed.

  • Hello new members. Play nice. Enjoy the great LFGSS..

  • Hi everybody,

I'm glad to find a space to talk with like-minded cyclist. I love riding my Fuji Track steel frame. This machine was ridden brakeless for time, but not too long ago I didn't see the point anymore and have fitted a front brake. The thing is on, but not in use.
Some time ago I build a road bike frame on a frame building course in Canterbury. Work on it is still in progress, since I haven't managed to clean up those pretty lugs yet. However, I build it up and rode it from London to Brighton and then back to Gatwick last Sunday. I'm hoping to get my hands on a Dremel soon and finish the project.

  • Hey, long time lurker, I used to ride bmx for a few years, but haven't owned a bike since packing that in, bought myself an old Kalkhoff 10 speed conversion, riding single-speed atm, planning to go fixed as soon as funds allow, looking forward to wasting hours on here!

  • Hi, been lurking for a while, though I ought to introduce myself. Built myself an On-One Pompino SS a couple of months ago, absolutely loving it. Hope everyone's enjoying riding in this (briefly) beautiful weather!

  • Hello everyone

    • just signed up

    Cheers, Jun

  • Hi Everyone,

  • Hi Everyone,
New here! Been lurking around as a guest for a while and was surprised I hadn't joined sooner. Been riding fixed for a couple of years, first off with an SE Lager. Just a month of so ago I bought a Specialised Langster for an endurance event I'm signed up to.

Will find the appropriate forum and post details about it there.

Look forward to interacting with you all.

    Dave

  • Hey,

    I am now here.

    Hi!

  • Hiya!

'Long time lurker first time poster' — Ahhh the old cliche.

Been riding a myriad of bikes since last year, currently running a no name fixed piece of junk as I had my equally junky 'No-Logo' stolen a few weeks ago, looking to get a track bike in the next month, so that should be interesting.

    Cheers!

  • Hi all, just joined the site... been into bikes for years but not had one for a while... used to ride a bit of downhill/free ride etc and have had a few Konas, a Cannondale, a Team Marin Downhill and a Spooky Metalhead, just bought my first singlespeed Dolan from murph, can't wait to get out on it now!!!

  • Hi everyone,

I'm from France, Lyon, and as I'm going to work for two months in London, I thought it might be a good idea to come by and say hi to the lfgss community.

Of course, these will stay in France so I hope I'll manage to get a bike during my stay in London, that would be a significant improvement for commuting and Sunday rides...

  • Hi Everyone
Long time lurker (we're talking years), but finally have a smart enough phone that has web access (yeah I know, but I iz old!), and an employer who has PCs which does not block forum use (yeah I know, but they are old!). Been riding for years, currently on a Schwinn Madison, but also have a Boardman road bike and variousl other things with two wheels which come under the geneal description of bicycles. Generally seen around South London - especially Crystal Palace/Brixton areas and around Fitzrovia when at work. Over time I have been "spotted" twice - once when having a cheeky fag, and once when running a red, I try not to do either nowadays! Great forum, been so helpful already....and made me chuckle like a tax evader, gawd bless you all! See ya around, I normally ride with a smile!
