Whilst having a rejuvenating pint post last night's festivities, my Brooks Swift was nabbed from Broadway Market. It was a darkened honey finish and had a small pair of vertical indents on the upper edge of the Brooks badge which extended into small marks on the leather.
It had a Kryptonite cable through the rails which had been neatly cut and left. I had foolishly left it for a couple of hours.
That thing had gotten real comfy. -

Exactly the same happened in Cambridge Heath Road a few days ago; cable lock cleanly cut.

cable locks may as well be made out of licorice laces, utter waste of time

In all fairness, thats what happens when you own a brooks

Wasn't this one was it?

Didn't get a chance to see the saddle as it wasn't my bike. Just saw the aftermath. Thanks for spotting though.
Cable lock means that you may be able to stop someone with a multi-tool alone. There's not much else you can do other than a bike chain (still breakable).

Hey all,
friend of mine had a fancy bike nicked late last night in Bethnal Green, 'Twas a white Genesis Croix de Fer, in every respect a touring bike. It was the first day of our cycle tour (we'd come from Brighton) to Eastern Europe. It was locked up with a pretty hench Kryptonite d-lock, not even a piece of that was left behind. We spent the morning at Brick Lane market, to no avail.
Looks like this..I very possibly saw this being ridden along Old street/Clerkenwell road this evening just after 6.
Rider was a athletic built blonde guy. Something looked a bit not quite right about it

I've been meaning to hit the BB/superglue option. I obviously left it a little too late.

Don't superglue your bottom bracket in.

Just seen something really suspicious. Last week I was having a drink at the Alma pub in Wandsworth Town and I saw a 25-35 yr old guy riding a Langster Monaco (White with blue and red detail) with distinctive green bartape. I literally just saw a dodgy looking 16-18 yr old riding exactly the same bike up the road at the parade of shops at the top of East Hill.
My bike was stolen just a few days ago from the same place as I saw the boy, which is why I was so suspicious. I followed him from afar as I was sure the bike was stolen, and saw which house he went into.
Does anyone know someone who has had a bike matching this description stolen in Wandsworth over the past week? The green bartape was particularly distinctive. If so please get them to get in contact with me!

PatChurch - have a chat to the chap in Strattons, I was talking to him a week or two ago, and he said that there is a family down one of the streets that way that are well known to the police, that he is certain are stealing bikes. It may well be the same place as you saw.
He's tried the local police, who don't seem interested, but the cycle task force haven't been contacted as far as I know. I only thought to mention them to him after I left, and I've not seen him since.
Hope this helps!

The only difference was the saddle on the bike I saw was a tan Brookes (possibly a B17) -

Looks like this..Just been in BLB with B0N0R and we spotted this bike in the back out side section. Looked very dodgy with just plastic clear flats wacked on

Oof. BLB in stolen bike shocker. If its definitely the same one this whole blb thing is getting ridiculous.
-
• #8649
Should someone get in touch with the rozzers about this BLB thing? If some people who have had first hand experiences with alleged stolen goods from them give statements there could be a reason for the popo to take action and seize stolen goods from them.

and then shut them down and we could all share arrospoks out between us
Old dude in a leather jacket pushing a navy blue, steel Colnago past Shepherds Bush Station. Not necessarily stolen, bit didn't look totally legit.
