Spotted a mate in the station earlier with his new build, not quite finished... (stem needs cutting and bars need taping...)
Crap photo is my fault, poor light think I had the shakes after a strong coffee...

It's funny, the idea started off as converting a road frame on a budget... think he got a bit carried away.
The curse of slavery.

what is the rear rim on that black lo pro with hed 3?
-
• #6735
Just love risers with the grips butted right up to a Thomson stem.
I know someone posted a pic of something similar to this the other day but for me It's gotta be a four bolt with 25.4 bars. Wish I'd had this setup when I owned this bike. -

So what is the right bike for a Brooks? Can they even go on anything that will go fast?
That's a good point. No, they can not. I hate them on virtually any bike.
-
• #6739
For me they suit a vintage British bike, like a Hetchins, a Bob Jackson, Mercian etc... or a high mileage tourer. Otherwise...

I'm working* on a "period correct"(ish) 1930's road bike at the mo and have come to the conclusion that Brooks (or wrights) is my only option.

^^^ Have to agree. Unless its a ladies sit up and beg with basket, or older bikes being period renovated. But I'm unlikely to ever own either, so no.
edit: Damn you guys for getting there first! :P

Back to business?
(or shall we continue sharing our vital statistics?)...finally getting the attention it deserved.

put white-taped bullhorns on it & I think you'd have universal approval - everything else looks pretty period correct - It even looks like a vittoria corsa tub on the back!
did that too...

• #6744

-
• #6745

^Cheers for the tip - They look pretty good with the integrated saddlebag loops I'll keep my eyes open for one.

(Never thought i'd hear myself perving saddlebag loops - not for a carridice of course, purely for hanging the clement tubs from)
