  • Also, I think the aero seatpost was a good call'

  • That stem was demon that needed exorcising.

  • Who said I need to lower it a tad?

Seatpost angle like that usually indicate it's set too high and needed to be at that angle to prevent too much pressure on your baby maker.

Unless I read correctly you already sorted the angle out?

  • Mike burrows carbon seatpost purchased and fitted, photo also shows the same chunky stem sprayed black, looking for a new stem due to the crack now though!

Next on the list is to replace the headset, then I think that's going to be pretty much it to see me through summer!

  • Wow, that just about fit, quite lucky!

    Fork?;

  • Just fit indeed, and that's the smallest size, such a short arse.

The writing on the forks do look really bright in this picture, sunshine finally came to Manchester. Its a shame they aren't full carbon though!

  • I'm not entirely sure a full carbon fork is idea with a BMX stem, and most importantly required a torque wench.

  • Should've stopped here imo, but as you said, I'm just hating.

Nahh, since the new stem and seat post i quite like this build. Like Ed said the fork could use a little black paint. And matching tires wouldn't hurt it...

  • New stem looks much nicer to me!

  • Slack chain!

  • chains fine although it does appear slack on the most recent photo!

  • Sand the forks, get a proper chain and some grips that don't leave the bars open ended (though I like the colour of them) and I'd actually like that quite a bit. Good going from the anti status it had just a bit further up the thread.

  • why replace the headset, and for what?

  • The new seatpost looks lovely with it, perhaps remove a few chain links and slam that rear wheel, plus give it a matching tyre, other than that, great job, all came together in the end

  • I can't see any point in replacing the headset, unless you wanted a lower stack height? (which is odd given you got a spacer underneath that stem).

If that the case, why not replace the conical spacers instead?

  • Nice, not a big fan of the bar and stem, rest is great/

  • The chain's still slacker than Jordan.

  • better slack than bind'd as a abortion hatin' sex after marriage Christian.

  • Have you been smoking your socks again?

  • Took a link out the chain this morning to slam the rear wheel as much as possible, 1 link is all I could get out of it! Also took the headset apart and gave it a good grease up and gave it a general service ready for a big ride tomorrow!

I'm gonna wait till the rear tyre needs replacing till I get a matching set of tyres too.

  • Fair point, no point in spending money where it's not due! The bike looks tighter with the new chain length, bravo. Only other thing to do as mentioned is to sand the forks, but no biggie really...noice

  • the forks are fine. Is there room to get the rear wheel out while there's air in the tyre? The only things I would change are a Gatorskin Hardshell tyre on the rear, it will last about 4 times longer than a normal gatorskin, and a longer stem, anything from 80mm onwards will make the handling much better.

  • This project is going to be on hold for a little while I work on a project for my girlfriend. Although I have purchased a new headset and its now running 1000x smoother!

  • This frame is now up for sale. £175 with BB
