I had the wheels laying around from a previous build, they a are a bit flexy but my old frame was steel so i'll see how it goes, i might just buy a pair of ellipses and a rear disc though
Looks tidy. Think you might just get away with those wheels....

I love these frames - look forward to seeing it built.

okay, i've been thinking about handlebar choice for this, ideally i'd like something with a shallow drop for example the 3t scattos or the zipp vukasprint would be pure bling and really nice, but i'm just worried about having a small crash and not being able to use them, what would people recommend?

Planet x compact drop bars are a great shape, and cheap.
-
• #32
I like the wheels.

zipp seatpost + stem
or
shimano PRO mark cavendish's stem with seatpost? -

Is the fork crown on the wrong way around, or am I being thick?
-
• #35
the fork is the right way around, but i do see what you mean

Is it the wrong headset for the frame/forks then? Gap looks very wrong.

I've got a feeling Pifko is right.
I don't think I've seen a crown race with a chamfered bottom face, and that gap seems a tad excessive. What does the rest of the crown race look like?
If our presumptions are correct then be careful removing it as that chamfered edge will be in direct contact with the inner race of the headset bearing.

Was this bought 2nd hand?

Fork steerer length says probably not.

Steel Nitto B125's.
Same as 123's but with a shallow drop... and stiff as hell for out of saddle sprint efforts.
This is my third season using mine, and they are great. Have also stood up to a few minor spills, and one major spill. Still straight.
They weigh almost as much as the rest of my bike though....

the only reason the gap is that big is because i hadn't installed the headset to remove the gap
here's a picture of how it is nowI don't think I've seen a crown race with a chamfered bottom face, and that gap seems a tad excessive. What does the rest of the crown race look like?

pimpalimpin#
rode it down to hh (48x16(which is way too spinny for me on the track))
got a 50t T.A. Specialities chainring and a 15t cog coming soon, bike is superstiff with cav's stem.i've got a white shimano vibe 7s seatpost laying around, should i put it on this bike or should i leave the black fsa on?
-
• #43
nice work, what days you going to training? I was starting to feel kinda intimidated in the crowd of adults :P
-
• #44
I'm going away next week so I won't be around but I'll be racing the open seasons, and I'll probably go any night that I can when something's on
-
• #45
should be getting a 14t da cog in the post tomorrow, anyone got a 50-51t 144bcd chainring?
-
• #46
I like it a lot. Only I would prefer bartape. Is 51-14 normal on the track?
-
• #47
48 x 15=86″ is ideal for adult riders, a slightly higher ratio around 90 gear inches is preferred for racing
50-14 gives me 93.9"
51-14 gives me 95.7"Chris hoy uses 52-13/14 depending on event
-
• #48
iz u as strong as chris hoy?
I started with a really high ratio too but found it much better to spin more. Personally I ride 53/15 which is really nice -

back in febuary i put out 1783 watts on a gym bike, i've beaten most adults in sprints last year at hh (on 48x15), there are match sprints this saturday and i haven't raced all year so it'll be interesting to see how i do haha, 53/15 is the same as 50/14
-

Thats impressive^ I'm putting out about 17-1800 on my wattbike. Ohh i might come down to the match sprints. Do you have to register or just turn up?
I am disappoint.
(:
Are these pricey? Looks tidy. Think you might just get away with those wheels....
