  • Wait: You want us to PRINT out our paypal receipt?!? What about the trees man? I no have a printer. What then? Printers are so last century I feel constantly shocked when people just expect me to have one and print stuff.

I will be showing the email of the receipt on my phone, will that do?

Some of the shit I'm bringing is so experimental, it might look like I'm not even there.
    #fuckyeahpharmacology.
    ...
    I'm with henry

Where's Skully? He needs to talk to this lot about lights - http://www.facebook.com/groups/DunwichDynamo/

you rang? I never click links but I will be vocally slagging off flashy lights.

    Fucking Excited.

  • It's on the DunRun Facebook page.

And no, you don't need to print off your receipt - just give us your name on the night.

  • :) ta

Facebook abd I aren't friends. (Have I got that right?)

  • Once I have given you my name can I have it back, only quite a few people are used to calling me by it and I would hate to have to find a new one.

  • In response to the humour about hard currency on the previous page, that if I can afford it and don't need my coach ticket home, I could tell Southwark Cyclists to resell my place. Why not support their work towards the greater good of the dynamo?

  • Thank you Skully.

We don't resell or refund. We can help you find a buyer though, which isn't hard on the night.

And no Ramaye, I'm keeping your name, cos I likes it :)

  • Just bought one. in your face, sir.

    sorted now? well done :)

  • Yep, committed now. Praying to the met office that it's good weather and planning a couple of London to Brightons in prep now. This will be my first 'forum ride' as well. Look out for a bright yellow Don Brooks with straight chrome forks and a carradice (and gears) (and Lycra).

  • excellent, i'll find you at London Fields and say hello :)

  • How will we spot you Al?

    Excellent!

It's not really a forum ride...it's an everyone ride :)

  • No no, I know! I heard about it away from the forum and am riding with non forum people, but this will be my first ride with other forum users also there.

  • We have about 60-70 coach seats/truck spaces left .

It's not too late to book: http://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/dunwich-dynamo-faqs

Let's start praying for good weather...

  • Count me in.

    xxx

  • Really considering hitting this very last minute. And my wife seems keen to drive up, pick me up and make a day of the trip back, it's ages since I've been to California.

Although she might not want to go north :)

I'll be riding down from Tooting if you want to join? Picking up a friend at Liverpool Street on the way. We're also riding from Dunwich to Norwich, which would get you some of the way to California.

  • California, Norfolk. It's much the same.

Quite tempting, certainly for riding to the start, there are a number of people from Londoners on Bike who are planning on doing it together, but we'll see how things work out

The link sends me to California USA

Fixed that for you, here the correct link too though... http://goo.gl/maps/pJhJ

  • How will we spot you Al?
look for a gherkin or saveloy skin suit ;-)

  • Sparky, I and a friend will be dining at a Dosa place near tooting bec station before heading out, fancy joining us?

  • What's a Dosa place? Certainly beats my cooking, whatever it is. I'm picking a friend up from Liverpool Street on the way to London Fields, if that's OK, what with riding up after the meal?

  • 650 coach tickets have now been sold. Roughly 50 left to go.

£30 to bring you and your bike back to central London from the beach is still a good deal we think.

I'd like to thank every one of you who has bought a ticket and shown such enthusiasm. I really do value your support.

There will be additional pop-up pit-stops this year including one in Great Bardfield: Mick Fellows, a friendly resident, will be outside the Bell Inn in Great Bardfield, Dunmow Road, CM7 4SA. (It's on the right in the heart of the village.)

He'll be asking for a minimum donation of £2, with all proceeds going to Marie Curie and will be offering: Tea, coffee, Mars Bars (or similar), toilets if pub is still open. Look out for him!

Quoting Oliver's very useful post for those hard of searching/trawling this thread...

Also, some useful advice from the horse's mouth:

    http://owntheroad.cc/2012/05/hit-the-beach/
    http://owntheroad.cc/2012/05/twenty-years-are-gone/

As ever, don't worry too much about the distance; anyone of moderate fitness can ride 120 miles. You might take a little longer, but the distance is actually the least problem. An untimely mechanical would be far more disastrous, so make sure your bike is in good condition first. Also just observe some very simple rules of long-distance riding: Eat in small morsels and frequently; drink in small sips and frequently; go at your own pace and don't necessarily worry that much about staying with faster (or slower) friends--they'll all find someone to ride with. About 1,500 people do the ride now, so it'll be busy on the roads.

Drag out the ride for as long as you possibly can--people who rush are doing something wrong.

Follow the advice on the Southwark FAQ page, too:
