Thought here might be a good place to ask. can anyone remember that guy on WW that made his own inline seatpost out of a shit one with a heavy clamp? He cut the end off and drilled a hole through then put that ww style clamping mechanism. Ring any bells? I'm toying with a similar idea, and wondering where I might find the clamping mechanism. a la:

Some have even done this with integrated seatposts, as the special clamp often weighs as much as a seatpost anyway.
AFAIK you need to buy a seatpost and scavange the parts. There are hundreds on EBay.
