• OK, so maybe a bit far out there for a bike forum, but being Londoners I bet one of you somewhere will want this bad for their rad hipster coffee shop.

ANTIQUE O'BRIEN of LIVERPOOL TILL / CASH REGISTER c1895
    *
Here we have a 100+ year old mahogany till. The till is a bit unusual compared to other O'Brien's you might find in that the action of the drawer being opened and closed (one transaction) moves a complex mechanism that advances the till reel one notch, and more unusually moves a row of 'teeth' that move the money dropped in the top window eventually into the till drawer itself (3x transactions are held within the glass/brass bezelled window on the top until they are dropped into the cash drawer. You may see other O'Brien tills, but unlikely another like this with the brass & glass cash organiser mechanism.

Till can be bolted securely down to the counter, and the bell rings on each opening making a pleasing tone.

The till accepts a pretty standard 3-4" till reel, you can quickly adapt a modern off the shelf item to fit this (just unreel it onto the wooden spool and off you go!), so you can keep track of transactions.
Included are two keys, one fits the lock ,the other does not, but is of the same make (O'Briens own made brass lock). The lock secures the top lid of the till to avoid tampering of the till reel etc, but does not lock the cash drawer (it has no lock).

You can plainly see the till has had a LOT of use, likely used for a great deal of its 100yr+ life, but none of the wear detracts from it, and its mechanisms operate perfectly well. It would look (and could be used) brilliant in a stylish retro /chic coffee bar, delicatessen, craft shop etc.*

The price be £160 delivered to your door in the UK.
You may find other OBrien tills knocking about, but ones with this coin raking mechanism are super rare and a bit of fun to use.
