Jubilees have their roots in Ancient Egypt, where as a Pharoah one had to prove one was still fit to reign over the subjects by parading the country every thirty years and at the same time it was intended to reinforce the Pharaoh's divine powers and religious leadership.
As the Euro monarchs believe they are related to the Pharoahs (and beyond) it really is not a British tradition in any way. One only has to look at the flag of England to realise it is exactly the same as the flag of Ancient Egypt.
Personally I would be more interested in celebrating the life of someone who fosters difficult children or a youth worker who makes a difference instead of a parasitical family that has been sucking from all of us through the the completely invented 'Divine Right of Kings,' but what normal person would want that kind of adulation anyway?
