Geared slaves is fraught and hugely open to (mis)interpretation - the "plastic wheels and road tyres" defence fails against the cancer of triathlon bikes
My geared bike has a glam frame, Cinelli Alter, and rad wheels - but it's completely un-slave as it conforms to the orthodoxy of the pro peleton in the mid 90's - A slave must be rad, and slightly irreverent.
IMHO That double spok landshark is a geared slave, the Janssen 979 is just a nice bike.
