Worx Bikes

  • I was looking into the well documented world of OTP SS bikes for a mate and came across http://www.worxbikes.co.uk/

I was wondering if anyone had seen or ridden one and if they had any opinons?

There are some no name parts and no detailed photos of the drop outs, but the price point looks good for a complete build...

    Anyone got anything to say?

I want to know if it's worth venturing into the unknown and recommending this or sticking to the usual OTP suspects...

  • i want to know too so bump!

  • I dont know what they're like personally but I know someone on here mentioned they did the photography for the website and had said they're decent

  • I don't know anything about them, but they're bloody handsome.

  • Spec wise and price, they look reasonable, in theory of course.

  • Has no one touched the metal then?

I thought worx made shite tools for B&Q?

  • it was mr smith who did the snaps.

He said they were pretty good, theres plenty of no name stuff on most bikes at this price, and we all know they come out of the same factories, whether there is a name on it or not.

why not just phone them up?
    if there's a human there, i'm sure they'll answer

they not oxfordish? maybe they'll have a demo they can show?

  • ^ hmm, yeah they're just a few miles outside of Oxford - I might drop by and have a look, actually.

  • ^ so er, these three guys all joined on the same day, and the above posts are the only ones they've made; all within a short period, too.

  • Yup, nuked the spammers.

  • So whoever worked for worx spammed the forum? bad form...

  • Good point webby - i'll give them a call and see if they have anything available to view in town, but it was only a passing interest which wouldn't warrant a trip to Oxford...

  • So whoever worked for worx spammed the forum? bad form...

No, not an employee. Normal people were asked by someone to post, but as we don't know who I wouldn't make assumptions and paint the company in bad light. If you remember, a similar thing happened with Demon and actually Demon are awesome and it was a dumb guy who was trying to act in Demon's interest that spammed us. We shouldn't be so quick to judge. We don't have the facts.

  • A little birdy tells me they were not working for worx and certainly not asked by anyone to post here.

  • mm... bacon

  • this is a few months old now, but anyone got an update on these bikes?

I'm looking to sell/hang up my current singlespeed and move onto a modern build like a leader 725, dolan pre cursa, fuji track comp or maybe the new specialized langster (i'm not minted or anything, but nearly finished my university placement and fancy treating myself before going back to Manchester), then i came across these worx bikes, so any info would be really appreciated.

  • If you liked the Worx, it's worth looking at the Cooper whom I think are not too dissimilar to the Worx offering and slightly cheaper;

From appearance and MrSmyth's comment, I'd says they look decent (Worx I mean).

  • Dredge.

I believe that these bikes are designed by a guy who was a messenger in London for 10 years (look on Moving Target site). Sounds like the real deal, and the bikes look great.

    PS Not an employee!

  • Steel frame rust, just exactly what have been rusting that cause problems?

  • Is it a chrome frame? I know that overcleaning can wear away chrome plating, but only over time and I wouldn't have thought 4 months would be long enough. Perhaps the chrome plating isn't up to much, in which case (unless you can get a refund from the manufacturer), a way to solve it may be to have it re-chromed or painted.

But still, 4 months is no time for a bike to start rusting.

Do you have any pics you can put up?
